National Start! Walking Day 2008

Academic fitness is a great attribute to have. However, often times even the sharpest students can forget about the physical aspect of fitness. Along with academic fitness, Penn Foster promotes physical wellness among today’s world of physical inactivity, short-term convenience (e.g. junk foods!), and lack of exercise. We recognize that physical fitness leads to academic fitness, and vice-versa.

On Wednesday, April 16th, Penn Foster will join the American Heart Association in participating in National Start! Walking Day. The AHA is encouraging everyone to get out and walk; it doesn’t matter if it’s for a half hour, fifteen, or even ten minutes. By starting something as simple as a daily walking routine, you can improve your self-image, help control your weight, manage your stress, and share a new activity with your family and friends. In accordance with National Start! Walking Day, Penn Foster will be holding fifteen-minute walking sessions around the building three times throughout the day for all employees. Academic fitness and physical fitness go hand-in-hand, and we here at Penn Foster hope that you will take the first step in bettering your physical wellness by participating in this wonderful activity with us.
