It’s official! The very first annual OFFICE CONVENTION has come and gone with the festivities beginning on Friday and wrapping up on Sunday. Now, as all you Office fans well know, the show is based out of Scranton, PA – also the home of Penn Foster!! It was so exciting to see our town alive and active with all the visitors. There were people from all over the country AND the world!
The excitement started on Friday morning with Al Roker from The Today Show (surrounded by a sea of Royal Purple Fans from “Da U”) doing the weather from The University of Scranton. And, that was just the tip of the excitement. With just about 10,000 fans attending The Office Convention, our city streets were packed – so much so that they actually closed streets downtown so pedestrians and vendors would have ample space to move and setup. Some of the activities that the fans got to enjoy included an autograph signing, Office Olympics, cast question and answer session and a “stock holders” meeting that, from what I’ve heard, got a little heated (all in good fun, of course). Many of the cast members were also in attendance including Angela Kinsey, Ed Helms and even BJ Novak made a surprise appearance!
All-in-all it was a fantastic weekend and we, here at Penn Foster, cannot wait for the SECOND annual Office Convention!
